The Tabernacle
When God redeemed his people from the land of Egypt, he led them through the wilderness to Mount Sinai. There he revealed his glory in the giving of the law. The mountain could not contain the glory of the Lord who spoke to his people in the ten commandments. There had to be a distance between the holy God and sinful men.
But following the giving of the law, God made a wonderful provision for his people. He commanded them to build a special tent, a place where he would dwell among them and where they would be assured of his presence. The Tabernacle dominates the first five books of the Bible, and is rich in its symbolism and significance. Share with us in our studies of this great aspect of the Old Testament.
